Health and Safety

The health and safety of your child is of the utmost importance to us. We rely on your cooperation to help prevent the spread of communicable disease throughout our school.

Children sent home ill will require a physician’s note stating the diagnosis and date the child may return to school. Children not taken to a physician will need to remain at home until symptom free for a full 24 hours. Parents must make arrangements to pick up their sick child within 30 minutes from time called. Sick children cannot remain at school.
For the protection of others, children with the following symptoms may not attend school:
1. Severe coughing, causing the child to become red or blue in the face or make a whooping sound.
2. Difficult or rapid breathing
3. Stiff neck
4. diarrhea (more than one abnormally loose stool within a 24 hour period)
5. Fever
6. Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
7. Expose open skin lesions (sores or wounds)
8. Unusually dark urine and or gray or white stools
9. Yellowish skin or eyes
10. Severe itching of the body or scalp (including head lice)
11. Any other unusual sign or symptom of illness (including unexplained rashes)
